Jeevan Jyothi Convent & Jeevan School of Nursing is under direct management of the Sisters of the Society of Jesus, Mary, Joseph (JMJ). Then the Bishop of Jamshedpur Most Rev. The three Sisters, Sr. Jerome Ukkan, Sr. Fidelis Manjali and Sr. Fabiana Kavungal arrived from Hyderabad on November 14th 1985 and started Jeevan Jyothi School of Nursing on 10.01.1986.The establishment of the Nursing School here in Telco is initiation of Dr. C. 'Every struggle in our live has shaped us into the person we are today. Gratitude is the reason why I’m here, want to sing it aloud to make the world a lot more grateful.' As I flash back my experience of being in JJSN, my heart overflows with immense gratitude to the Lord, for giving me a wonderful family(second family), loving teachers and friends. It was an unique experience to be in an unknown place, language, people etc..but the atmosphere helped to face every challenge with a smile. I am very proud to say that I’m a 'Jeevan Jyoti Student'. I will be always indebted to all my dear Sisters and Teachers for not only teaching me but also the moral values which they have instilled in me which is more necessary in today's world. They made me tough and gentle to face the real world with responsibility. I know that I will never be able to repay them back for my all round growth and development. I really wish to step back to cherish my golden memories of JJSN once again. 'Jeevan Jyothi School of Nursing' has been guiding lamp for the students and I wish and pray from the depth of my heart that it may shine with more radiance for the years to come....
I, Usha Ram Kumar, joined this prestigious institution in the year 1987 for 3 ½ year course of General Nursing and Midwifery. I enjoyed my journey in JJSN. Apart from the educational activities I also got a chance to participate in a lot of extracurricular activities which helped me grow personally as well as professionally. After the completion of my GNM course. I worked for one year in Tata Motors Hospital., then I joined Tinplate Hospital. Currently, I am working as a Matron of this esteemed hospital and looking after the general administration of Nursing as well as paramedical staff. I am very grateful to the JJSN for enriching me with good educational facilities and with the best management who have helped me to successfully complete my course. Last but not the least I would also like to thank the Management of Tata Motors for their constant support and providing me with a wide scope of clinical experience. To pursue Diploma from Jeevan Jyothi School of Nursing was the best decision that I ever made. The academic experience with a good infrastructure and excellent faculty at JJSN has endured me with a lifelong career excellence. I am really lucky and proud to have been a part of this institution not only because I got good job but because of things I have learnt over here. I found welcoming classmates, engaged faculty, and a built-in community in the school. At JJSN everything possible is done to make the students life high-quality learning focused. The quality of tutors and non-teaching staff contacted to run the module were of high calibre. The icing on the cake was the neat and clean campus with high standards of discipline coupled with daily prayers, classes and duties, and off course Tata Motors Hospital experience was a cherry on the cake. The education imparted still gives me confidence and direction towards a successful career. One can cream from books but originally it is always the faculty and surrounding environment that only can transform a student into a professional. I am grateful that I am the alumnae of the institution; it gave me the tools to succeed with confidence and perseverance.

Hi, Shailaja here. One among the fourteen students of 2nd batch(1987-1991) of Jeevan Jyoti School of Nursing. The environment I found was amazing in JJSN. Though it was my 1st exposure to Christianity, but I felt a close connection with Jesus. The chapel, morning mass, evening prayers I use to attend willingly as it helped me a lot for what I am today. The trust and confidence shown by JJSN on each individual student is remarkable. It's totally a personality makeover with not only knowledge and skills but with a greater aspect of attitude towards self and humanity. We also got opportunities to brush up our hidden talents by participating in extracurricular activities. I shall always remain grateful to almighty for providing me with such beautiful institution, inspiring faculties and attached hospital for exposure and experience. During my journey till now I have acquired so many achievements other than that I have received highest prestigious life time award in nursing profession “National Florence Nightingale Award 2016.
